Apple and the IGZO screen that could be implemented in the iPad 3

In a recent article, those from cNET PRESENTS Apple as one of the companies that set trends and standards in the industry and everything they say is true. As examples they give Gorilla Glass which became important after it was implemented in iPhones, IPS screens which after reaching Apple products became interesting and of course the Retina Display which attracted the attention of all major gadget manufacturers . Well, those at cNET believe that the iPad 0 could bring a new revolution in the field of screens, and we are talking about the IGZO screens produced by Sharp.

... the probable adoption by Apple of Sharp's IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology in its future iPads. "For Sharp, IGZO is a big deal," said Shim, in a phone interview this week. Why? If Sharp can make those displays in commercial volumes for Apple, IGZO may become an industry standard for the next-generation of displays, not to mention a licensing bonanza for Sharp, according to Shim. IGZO's potential benefits include improved brightness at lower power consumption for very-high-resolution displays, according to Shim. That would, of course, include the rumored 2,048-by-1,536-pixel screen on the iPad 3.

Apple invested a lot of money in Sharp and it seems that those sums had the role of helping Sharp in the preparation of screens made using IGZO technology (indium gallium zinc oxide). These screens offer better brightness and lower power consumption even though they are capable of displaying images at very high resolutions, so they are all that Apple would need for the iPad 3. It is rumored that the iPad 3 could come with a Retina Display and these IGZO screens could be the answer to the problem that Apple had in the development of the new tablet.

If Apple chooses to go with those from Sharp, we will only find out in March when the iPad 3 tablet would be presented.
