Week I found out that iOS 5.1 was untethered jailbroken on the iPad 3 tablet, however, only one person owns this untethered jailbreak solution and it is called i0n1c. I told you yesterday that he is the only one that I knew for sure has such a solution, but it seems that certain websites in the US were a little bit confused and would have upset i0n1c by saying that there are 3 untethered jailbreak solutions and not one. Yesterday i0n1c threw some "darts" at those sites via his Twitter account and had an ironic exchange of lines with p0sixninja and chpwn on the side of the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.
chpwn admitted in a tweet that the Dev Team only had a tethered jailbreak solution for iOS 5.1 and that the solution discovered by him and Phoenixdev could be transformed into an untethered one even though it is tethered. Those messages were quickly deleted from Twitter but the tension between those who should develop an untethered jailbreak solution is obvious and i0n1c has always been seen as an outsider because of his attitude. He always seeks to be the center of attention and has an extremely arrogant attitude, and those who followed him on Twitter noticed this for themselves. The problem is that i0n1c is a very good hacker and we depend on him for jailbreak solutions, but it remains to be seen if he will decide to launch his untethered jailbreak solution.
Until now, MuscleNerd has not provided details about the untethered jailbreak solution it is developing, but as soon as new information appears, I will let you know.
