Apple is developing a gamepad for iDevices

Lately we have discussed some accessories that could give us the opportunity to improve the gaming function of iDevices, but now we find out that at Apple the company's engineers are working on the development of such an accessory. The information comes from those from Anandtech and there are no detailed details about what kind of device we could find in the Cupertino company's offer, but it is about an accessory that would allow us to control games without touching an iDevice. Although many people are very satisfied with the current way of controlling iDevices, Apple seems to want to offer us a better experience and the possibility to see everything on the screen, without covering part of the content with fingers and virtual buttons, I find it extremely attractive.

I know of an internal Apple project to bring a physical controller to market, but whether or not it will ever see the light of day remains to be seen. As smartphones and tablets come close to equaling the performance of current game consoles, I feel like the controller problem must be addressedd.

Of course, most Apple projects do not reach the market, but maybe this time we will have something really useful because many would like such an accessory for iDevices. The good part of a device designed by Apple lies in the fact that some general APIs will be available to all developers so that any game can be made compatible with an Apple gamepad from the very beginning or somewhere along the way. The current gamepads for iDevices are only compatible with certain games, but an Apple product would be compatible with any game from the App Store and here we have the key to the success of such a device.
