The presidents of Samsung and Apple will meet to solve the legal problems of their own companies

Samsung and Apple have opened several dozens of lawsuits all over the world and unfortunately they seem to be far from being finished yet. To help conclude an agreement between the two companies, a US court decided that Tim Cook and the CEO of Samsung meet to establish a way by which the legal disputes could stop. The representatives of both companies are available to participate in a discussion "moderated" by a judge of a court in California and that meeting will be attended by the presidents of the companies and the members of the general councils.

As directed by the Court, Apple and Samsung are both willing to participate in a Magistrate Judge Settlement Conference with Judge Spero as mediator. At Apple, the chief executive officer and general counsel are the appropriate decision-makers, and they will represent Apple during the upcoming settlement discussions. At Samsung, the chief executive officer and general counsel are also the appropriate decision-makers, and they will represent Samsung during these settlement discussions.

Of course, the American court can only force them to meet to discuss, it cannot force them to reach an agreement, but this is the first step towards ending the American processes. Maybe the meeting will help to conclude an agreement that will be applied globally, but for now the presidents of the companies and the members of the general councils will meet in the next 90 days to discuss the future of the companies.
