A Foxconn employee commits suicide in Chengdu, his colleagues film the scene and are arrested

Chengdu is the city where Foxconn has one of the largest factories producing iDevices, but also the city where more than a week ago over 1000 employees fought with the law enforcement due to an apparently insignificant incident. If at that time assurances were given that the tensions there had disappeared, here is how a Foxconn employee recently did he committed suicide jumping from the 18th floor of one of the blocks where the company's employees are housed. The incident was attended by the police and some of the company's employees, some filming the entire scene and being arrested when they refused to delete from their mobile terminals the images taken during the employee's jump.

The employee who committed suicide was less than 20 years old and for now the reason(s) that led him to do this thoughtless gesture is not known. The bad part is that everyone will blame Foxconn and Apple for the incident, although no one knows if Foxconn's modus operandi would have led him to take his own life. The bad part is that at Foxconn there are still big problems with the employees, although Tim Cook and the Chinese officials gave assurances that the employees will receive higher wages and better living conditions.
