The YouTube application disappears from iOS 6 beta 4 due to the end of the license, YouTube will release a new version in the App Store

If you have already installed the new one iOS beta 6 4 and you ask where the YouTube application is, well I'll tell you right now that it has completely disappeared. No one knows why Apple chose to remove this application from its operating system, but in the changelog we find a warning by which we are informed that many YouTube videos will not open in Safari. I confess that I also use that format to publish videos and others do the same, so many videos will not work at all.

As of iOS 6, embedded YouTube URLs in the form of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0 will no longer work. These URLs are for viewing the video on the YouTube site, not for embedding in web pages. Instead, the format that should be used is described here: https://developers.google.com/youtube/player_parameters

UPDATE: YouTube app will not be included in iOS 6 because its user license has expired and Apple will not renew it. Google is working on a separate version of the application that will be available in the App Store.

Our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended, customers can use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the App Store.
