New MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models are to be launched in June next year

In June of this year, Apple updated the line of Macs and introduced several new models, and next year the company would update all models again, keeping the current designs. Apple would have asked them already to the partners to prepare for this change, we are only talking about replacing the hardware and nothing more, so basically Apple is doing nothing but keeping the tradition of the past years and offering customers what they know, but with better performance.

Apple has issued requests for quotations (RFQ) to Taiwan-based supply chain makers for the revision of several notebook models including MacBook Pro and MacBook Air series in June 2013, causing ultrabook vendors to be concerned, according to supply chain makers. The sources pointed out that the MacBook Air for 2013 will feature a new processor platform, but its industrial design will not see any major changes.

Apart from the information regarding the update of the Mac line, those from Digitimes claim that Apple could reduce the prices of the MacBook Air before June, but this is unlikely. Apple doesn't usually reduce the prices of its main products until after removing them from the first line, so there will be no discounts at the company, but the big retailers could sell the Air at a slightly lower price than Apple.
