For the first time in recent years, Android starts 2013 with a decrease in market share

In the USA, the Android OS has over 50% of the smartphone market, iOS being 15 percentage points behind it, with BlackBerry OS and Windows Phone at a great distance. At the beginning of 2013, the market share of Android OS registered a decrease of 1.3 percentage points without the last fiscal quarter of last year, Apple registering an increase of 3.5 percentage points. The increase of those from Apple was registered against the background of the losses recorded by Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and Symbian, BlackBerry OS having the biggest loss, of 1.9%.

iOS and Android OS hold over 90% of the smartphone market share in the US, but this is the first time that Android has registered a decrease, a sign that consumer preferences have changed slightly. The launch of HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S IV will certainly generate a positive change for Android terminal manufacturers, but Apple can counter it with an iPhone 5S released in the summer and a cheap iPhone released in the fall of this year. For now, there are no global statistics and it is not known how the systems have evolved in the rest of the world.
