Microsoft is developing a smartwatch

In weekend we present to you the vision of a director of the board of directors of Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, stating that smartwatches are some of the gadgets that will become extremely popular in the near future. If Apple, and even Samsung, are working on the development of some SmartWatch-s, then Microsoft should not sit idly by, and now we find out that in Redmond there is a team of engineers who received orders to develop a smart watch. Those from Microsoft they asked their Asian partners for 1.5 inch screens for the development of a new product, WSJ considering as if it were a smartwatch.

Earlier this year, Microsoft asked suppliers in Asia to ship components for a potential watch-style device, the executives said. One executive said he met with Microsoft's research and development team at the software company's Redmond, Wash., headquarters. But it's unclear whether Microsoft will opt to move ahead with the watch, they said. For its potential new watch prototype, Microsoft has requested 1.5-inch displays from component makers, said an executive at a component supplier.

Despite the information presented now, Microsoft ventured into the smart watch market in 2004, collaborating with Fossil and Suunto in a project called SPOT. Then the people from Microsoft launched on the market smart watches that displayed information about the weather and not only through a specially designed FM frequency. Now no one knows exactly what plans Microsoft has, but since the company is investigating projects of this kind, it is clear that this segment of the market is interesting for it.
