Mobile phone operators in Romania have been allowing travelers for several months to buy bus or subway tickets via SMS, and Orange now comes with a new interesting offer. The mobile phone operator initiated a new one today promotion through offers a free trip to everyone who buys a subway trip via SMS. Basically, you will buy a subway trip by sending a SMS with the text 1C to the number 1700, and in addition to the paid trip, you get another one for free from Orange.

Orange customers who buy a subway trip via SMS receive one for free
Bucharest, April 25, 2013. Starting today, Orange customers receive a free metro ride when buying a ride with their mobile phone.
Any Orange customer who chooses to pay for a metro trip by sending an SMS with the text 1C to the short number 1700 will receive a second trip for free. The standard price of a trip via SMS is 0,50 euros.
For Orange customers, there will still be the possibility to purchase 2 or 10 trips with the mobile phone, by sending the text 2C or 10C to the short number 1700, the charged rates being 0,90 euros and 3,25 euros, respectively.
In the case of subscriptions at the specified rates, VAT is added, and for PrePay cards the previously specified values are deducted from the available credit. Trips can be used for 6 months after purchase.
After buying a trip, in order to gain access to the station, the customer will call the free number 1700. The phone will start to emit a sound signal, and the customer will bring the phone closer to the specially installed validator. The message "Transaction successful!" will appear on the validator's screen. after which access is allowed.
The mobile phone payment and access service has been extended and is available to Orange customers starting from April 2, 2013 in all metro stations, except Bazilescu and Jiului.
Information about the number of remaining trips and the validity period can be requested by sending a free SMS with the text INFO to 1700.
