iOS 7 includes standard support for gamepads

During WWDC 2013 I told you that one of the novelties iOS 7 is the inclusion of standard support for third-party controllers, and now it's time to develop the subject a little. This is the first time Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), implements support for controllers dedicated to games for the iOS platform, the producers of titles of this kind can now develop special hardware thanks to the APIs offered by Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),. Now the company offers developers directly in the software SDK that allows them to develop their hardware in such a way that it is compatible with all the games that have implemented the respective API, the idea being that Apple offers a standard API for everyone, API that is stable and easy to implement.

Apple imagines that developers will build hardware similar to the one in the images above, but the company could force these developers to obtain certification from it in order to sell them. This gives users the certainty that the product is compatible with the iOS platform, but it could also give developers the chance to sell their goods in Apple Stores, guaranteeing them huge revenues. However, before you get too excited, it should be mentioned that it will be months and months until the first dedicated controllers appear on the market iOS 7, so we have quite a lot to look forward to.
