Square Enix will allow Deus Ex: The Fall to be used on jailbroken iDevices

The other day I told you that Square Enix has implemented in the game Deus Ex: The Fall a system that prevents users from firing weapons if they have jailbroken their terminals. This is one of the innovative security measures implemented so far to block the functionality of games on jailbroken terminals, and those from Square Enix have been attacked by users from all over the world for its implementation. IN A statement provided to those from Eurogamer, Square Enix apologizes for not communicating the implementation of this restriction in time, but stated that it will remove it through a subsequent update of the game.

We have not been clear in our communication earlier this week when we launched Deus Ex: The Fall. We did not state clearly that the game would not support jailbroken devices and so we will be switching this off via an update, so that all the supported iOS devices will be able to play the game in the near future. We feel it's the right thing to do in this situation and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. No customer should be out of pocket when we were not clear from the start, so we'll get the game updated as soon as possible so that everyone who wants to play Deus Ex: The Fall can do regardless of whether their device is jailbroken or note As soon as this update is live we will communicate this via the Eidos Montreal Community channels.

The company has not yet announced the date on which it will publish the update App Store, but it probably won't take long until it will be available, especially since the situation has upset many users, especially the paying ones who have jailbreak. There are tens of millions of jailbroken iDevices in the wider world, so there is plenty of potential for serious damage to Square Enix's image.
