Apple presents new icons for iWork and iLife suites, will offer Garageband for free

The other day we told you that new icons for the iPhoto and Garageband applications appeared inside the iCloud menu of iOS, but like last night Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has published on a page of the website all the new icons for the applications from the iWork and iLife suites. Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iPhoto, iMovie si Garage band they will have part of a change of the icons, these being now designed to blend as well as possible with the new one iOS 7, and you can see them in the images.

Apart from the new icons, the application Garage band will be available for free starting this week, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), choosing to implement the freemium model for it, that is, users will be able to install it for free, but will buy various functions through in-app purchases. Apple allows you to purchase additional instruments and sounds through these in-app purchases, so you will be able to use everything that is standard for free, but you will have to pay for additional functions.

GarageBand is free on the App Store for all iOS 7 compatible devices; additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available with an in-app purchase. iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated on or after September 1, 2013.

Finally, Apple lists some new functions available for applications iPhoto, Keynote si iMovie. In the case of iPhoto, we are talking about the inclusion of part of the functions of the former Cards application, the application now allowing the creation of photo books or the printing of the creations available in it. In the case of Keynote, we are talking about offering 30 templates for keynotes, with 18 more than the current number, this being the only change. iMovie remains at the end and we are talking about the implementation of a function called iMovie Theater, about which we know absolutely nothing for now.

For Keynote, Apple seems to be expanding the flexibility of the suite. The new version will offer 30 different template themes to start from, a substantial increase from the 12 the app currently has. The copy also talks about a new feature for the iMovie app called iMovie Theater. Apple's description is unclear on exactly what this feature is, but it seems to somehow simplify the process of sharing your movies across your devices.

Apple will present all these news during the media event on October 22, so don't forget to visit iDevice.ro to see everything the company has to announce.
