Apple intends to use the iBeacons system to improve the experience of buying products from Apple Stores

I told you a few weeks ago how useful technology is iBeacons for users and big stores around the world, and now we find out that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), intends to use it to ease the experience of buying products from Apple Store-hate. American company acquired in the last days sensors iBeacons which are to be installed in Apple Storethe US, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), having some interesting ideas about their use. The sensors will initially be placed in the tables/shelves where the products are presented, and through an update of the application Apple Store, Apple will send its visitors notifications with information about the products they are approaching, the image below showing the possible method by which these could be displayed.

Apart from this functionality, the Apple company can use the system to notify its users about workshops that are going to take place for certain software/hardware products, about appointments made for the Genius Bar or picking up products ordered online, about with promotions for various products, etc. Separately, the American company plans to warn customers who pass by stores that a product has been repaired and is ready for pickup, and in the future those interested could also make payments using the Apple Store application, iBeacons improving the security of such procedures.

The Apple company has for some time had a system that allows it to locate its customers in stores, but using iBeacons the system can be radically improved, because the localization would be much more accurate than in the past. Unfortunately, iBeacons only work with iOS 7 and only on devices that have integrated Bluetooth 4.0 (minimum iPhone 5), and the system will initially be launched in the USA, to be expanded to other areas around the world.
