In the last few days, numerous rumors have appeared that assure us that iPhone 6 will have an NFC chip integrated and as in iOS 8 Apple will implement a mobile payment system controlled in part by Touch ID. I found out yesterday and today that Apple has entered into partnerships with American Express, MasterCard si a few months ago I found out VISA, so we are talking about the biggest payment processors in the world that support the new mobile payment system via iPhone 6.
Although Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is preparing to make a small revolution in terms of the performance of mobile payments using mobile terminals, unfortunately we are talking about the first steps taken only in the USA and in other important countries around the world. Unfortunately, it is not enough for payment processors to adhere to this system, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), having to convince big retailers to use it NFC POS to allow payment authorization using this new system.
In this idea, in Romania there are minimal chances as possible iPhone 6 mobile payment system to be useful in one way or another, even if he has support VISA si MasterCard. In Romania banks such as ING offer mobile payment solutions with the help of special NFC cases, POSs that accept payments exist, but the reluctance of Romanians to use these systems is the first impediment to their widespread adoption.
The introduction of contactless cards is a good first step in this direction, but people must first be convinced to use these cards for payments, so that they can then do it using their own smartphone. Although the banks' efforts to enforce the use of this type of system must be praised, I think it will be a long time before we will be able to carry out mobile payments using an iPhone 6, despite the fact that cases like those from ING already offer this option for other existing terminals.
The even bigger problem will be that Apple will have to conclude, through VISA/MasterCard, or on its own, agreements with Romanian banks to allow the mobile payments via iPhone 6, and this will not happen soon. If we also take into account the fact that the network of POS compatible with this kind of systems needs to be greatly expanded, then things get even more complicated.
