Apple will not release a Mac with a touchscreen

iMac with touchscreen is one of the old dreams of many Apple fans, and in recent years we have seen a multitude of rumors related to the possible launch of such a product, but a manager of the American company confirms to us again that this will not happen. Craig Federighi, Apple's vice president of software development, said in a recent interview that Apple won't release such a product because the user experience isn't right.

We don't think it's the right interface, honestly, Mac is sort of a sit-down experience. We've really focused on building the best track pads we can, something where it feels [like] your posture's relaxed, it's a comfortable machine to use, And, of course, over the years we've experimented with all the technology, but we found it just wasn't good. … We're not all that interested in building one.

He claims that Macs were meant to be used while the user is sitting down in the chair, while the implementation of a touchscreen requires it to be used in a completely different, but not very comfortable, way. After years of testing a number of Mac prototypes equipped with touch screens, Apple decided that it was more useful to develop advanced trackpads and not to implement touch screens that spoil the user experience of those who use them.

In this idea, we won't see one any time soon iMac with touchscreen, so if you're hoping for such a product to be launched, you'd better take your mind off it.
