Apple doubles the sums spent on the acquisition of new companies, records a decrease in music sales

During this day the Apple company published its annual income statement for all the services and stores it has, and surprisingly digital music sales through the iTunes Store fell by almost 14% compared to 2013. The decline was offset, Apple claims, by an increase in sales of applications through the App Store, but we are talking about a rather big problem for the company, which earned 9.3 billion dollars from this online store.

Although its music sales are falling, Apple is buying more and more new companies, and separate from the Beats acquisition, it spent $957 million on acquisitions last year. The figure is almost double the one registered during the last year and demonstrates the enormous interest of the Apple company in looking for new talents, its number of employees increasing from 80.300 to 93.600 in a single year, the increase being substantial.

Finally, the amounts allocated for research and development increased, in fiscal year 2014 the Apple company spent 6 billion dollars in this segment, a figure more than double compared to the 2.4 billion dollars recorded for fiscal year 2011.
