Apple Maps – Apple is preparing changes that will make the service useful

Apple Maps is the map service of the Apple company that we have available in iOS since 2012, it is constantly updated with new maps and functions for users.

Apple Maps

Apple Maps is far from being as useful as Google's Google Maps, but those from Cupertino are making sustained efforts to transform their service into one worthy of use on iDevices. According to some new job offers published by the Apple company, those from Cupertino are preparing a range of new functions that they intend to implement in the future, most likely in iOS 9, they will provide more correct information and not only that.

The Maps team is looking for a talented and passionate software engineer to help develop the next generation of community services. Join us in building and extending the Maps application to allow Apple to crowdsource improvements to the Maps experience. You'll also be working on the frameworks and plugins that enable Maps to integrate deeply and seamlessly with parts of the system such as Siri and Passbook, to extend and enhance the feedback experience.

In the last year, Apple has relied on the Report a problem system to collect data from users regarding Apple Maps problems in order to solve them, but the system is not limited to that. Apple also uses data shared by users from the Frequent Locations system to identify existing mistakes in its map system, engineers analyzing the information to correct existing errors in business listings or points of interest.

Apple Maps becomes really useful starting with iOS 9

Apart from all this, the Apple company intends to implement including integration with Siri and Passbook for Apple Maps, but a new crowdsourcing system will also be available. This system will work in a similar way to the one available for the Waze application, that is, users would allow the provision of real-time information about traffic, errors in listings and much more than that, Siri and Passbook will also be used.

Unfortunately, it is not yet known when all these modifications will be available, but as I told you above, iOS 9 has the best chance of bringing them to us.
