Microsoft Cortana will be launched on iPhone

Windows Phone Cortana iPhone

Cortana is the equivalent of Siri for the Windows Phone platform, Microsoft developing the assistant with the idea of giving its own users the opportunity to benefit from a system similar to the one offered by Apple. More than a year after the official launch of Cortana, Microsoft is preparing to bring its assistant to Apple's platform in the form of a dedicated application that will try to "guess" our needs.

Basically Microsoft doesn't want to to bring an assistant that would answer our questions, but a kind of artificial intelligence that would answer our needs without us asking it to do so in advance. In this idea, Cortana for iPhone could predict the moment when we will leave for an airport based on an email received on the phone, could check all airline flights and provide information about traffic to the airport based on GPS location.

Cortana could tell a mobile phone user when to leave for the airport, days after it read an email and realized the user was planning a flight. It would automatically check flight status, determine where the phone is located using GPS, and check traffic conditions.

Google Now has a similar functionality, predicting our movements based on predefined information from various environments, and Apple will try to offer something similar in the future, its predictive system being quite rudimentary at the moment. Microsoft is going to release this advanced functionality for Windows Phone Cortana in Windows 10 in the fall, with applications for iOS and Android to be launched later.
