LG Display is one of the main suppliers of screens for the company's products Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, and whether you want to believe it or not, the Japanese company recently confirmed a product that those from Cupertino are preparing to launch on the market in 2015. More precisely, the people from LG Display are talking about IMAC 8K, a successor to the current one IMAC 5K, the Apple company apparently wanting to offer a surprising resolution for such an all-in-one product, and those from LG will help them do it through the screens produced.

It has become clear that Japan is planning to launch an 8K SHV test broadcast and then promptly restructure the UHD service. Apple has also announced that they will release the 'iMac 8K' with a super-high resolution display later this year. Korea is also preparing to offer an 8K service demonstration at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. LG Display displayed a new beacon of the 8K era by revealing their 98-inch 8K Color Prime Ultra HDTV at CES 2015.

According to the information provided by LG, the new IMAC 8K will have a screen with resolution of 7,680 x 4,320 pixels, clearly superior to that of 5,120 x 2,880 pixels implemented in the current IMAC 5K, so will come and with tailor-made hardware to support it in daily use. Although during this year it was said that 8K screens for displays dedicated to computers will be launched only during the next year, those from LG Display claim that the Apple product should reach the market towards the end of this year.

Given that Apple's sources have not yet confirmed LG's claims, no one knows exactly what the Cupertino's plans are for the future iMac, but since an Apple partner that produces this type of screens provides official information, it is clear that there are at least prototypes of the iMac 8K.
