iOS 9 – here is one of the important new functions

iOS 9 publicly tested

iOS 9 will be presented on June 8 by the Apple company and we know this for sure because this month those from Cupertino officially announced WWDC 2015 start date, and there we know for sure that the new version of the iOS operating system will be presented, the Apple company going to launch on that day also the first beta version of the operating system that the developers will be able to test.

Although for now we only know that iOS 9 will be more stable and faster, the Apple company confirmed the other day one of the new functions of the operating system, it being rumored from various sources in the past and we are talking about the implementation of a navigation system for public transport routes present in Apple Maps, Google Maps having a similar system of years.

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), looking for at the moment in front of engineers capable of implementing this function in the Apple Maps application, the American company describing it as one of the most awaited functions of its GPS location and navigation system, iDevice owners being deprived of such an option in a native application since 3 years ago, when Apple gave up on Google Maps.

As a member of the Routing team, you will work on one of the most anticipated features of Apple Maps. You will design and implement functionalities that will be used by millions of users worldwide. As part of a small team, you will have an influence on the future product.

In iOS 9 this function is going to become an integrated part of Apple Maps again and the Apple company knows that it needs such a functionality for its application, it acquired last year a company called HopStop, which is specialized in providing guided information for navigation using transport routes in common, 2015 being the year when its technologies will arrive in iDevices.

Although this feature should have arrived in iDevices earlier than iOS 9, it seems that Apple's internal problems regarding poor collaboration between employees and the departure of important engineers from its teams prevented the implementation of the system, but it seems that 2015 would finally bring us the functionality.

At the moment, the implementation of the guided navigation system using public transport routes seems safe in iOS 9, so it remains to be seen how everything will look and work, but also whether Apple will present the new function in the summer at WWDC 2015 or keep it as a surprise that will be announced together with the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in the fall of this year.
