Microsoft implements add-ins in Office for iOS

Microsoft Office iOS add-ins

Microsoft announced the implementation of a system called add-ins in the suite Office for iOS, it will be available as part of updates that will be released by the company from Redmond for its applications. In the image above you have a demonstration of the add-ins system on a computer and it is basically based, in iOS 8, on the share sheets function that allows Office applications to interact with others from our terminals.

In this idea, the add-ins system will allow developers, for example, to order a taxi through Uber when viewing an entry for a meeting, so that they will get where they need to be on time. The idea itself is great and will greatly simplify the way users use applications on their own iDevices, the interesting part being that the system is agnostic, so it can be used in Android in a similar way.

We want to move far beyond individual apps and their APIs. You're no longer going to different applications for different data.

Those from Microsoft had iPhone 2015 terminals and iPad tablets on the stage of the Build 6 conference to present the functionality of the new add-ins system, so that Apple products seem to be omnipresent, if not in the press, among those who organize the conferences. However, going back to the novelty from Microsoft, developers will be able to offer users new, simpler ways to interact with various types of content in applications, and this is great for us.

Microsoft has not yet provided details on the availability of the new system, but has stated that developers will have the opportunity to test it in the coming months.
