YouTube has disappeared from some Apple products

YouTube is the largest video sharing network on the planet, but starting today the application dedicated to accessing the video clips available in it has disappeared from certain Apple products. The action of those from Cupertino comes after an announcement made by Google, those from Mountain View taking the decision to disable the APIs on the basis of which the iOS and Apple TV applications present in iOS 6 worked or older versions.

Considering that those applications no longer display information starting today, the Apple company decided to disable the YouTube application from the Apple TV 2G, together with its entry available until today in the product's settings menu. The change does not affect the current Apple TV models that have the latest version of the operating system, in which an updated version of the application is available.

Considering that Apple TV 2G is such an old product with so few users, probably few will miss the application, so neither Google nor Apple will suffer much from the change. The bigger problem will be with users who cannot install iOS 6 or did not want to do so, as they are now forced to use YouTube only through Safari or other third-party applications available in the App Store.

According to recent calculations, the action affects approximately 100 million iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches and Apple TVs worldwide which would still be active.
