The most innovative companies of 2015 were announced in a top created by an American agency specialized in monitoring the patents registered for them in the USA.
According to this top, IBM is in the first position in this top with 3059 patents registered only in 2015, Samsung closely following it with 3052 patents, the difference between them being extremely small, a sign that the investments in research and development are extremely important for the two companies.
After them we find in third place the Canon company with 1782 registered patents, so a little more than half compared to Samsung, and in the third position we have LG with 1484 registered patents, Google being placed in the 5th position with 1083 invention patents registered in the first months of 2015.
Although the Apple company presents itself as focused on investing in research and development, those from Cupertino registered only 780 patents during 2015, a quarter of the total of those from IBM or Samsung, and this says a lot.
Practically, Apple does not invest more than Samsung or IBM in research and development, and the enormous difference between the number of patents registered for companies is normal, according to the investments made by each in the development of new technologies.
The study is based on patents registered between January and May 2015 in the USA.
