Facebook is developing a dislike button after years in which a multitude of users requested the implementation of such a function for the social network, Mark Zuckerberg considering that now is the time for him to make his appearance.
Now if you expect Facebook to implement a dislike button that will allow you to give a negative vote to any kind of status published on the famous social network, well I tell you to be a bit more reserved in terms of expectations.
Mark Zuckerberg states that this new dislike button will have the role of allowing users to express their empathy in relation to a certain status for which they would not normally like, the dislike button not having a function of disapproval or expressing a negative opinion.
People have asked about the 'dislike' button for many years, and probably hundreds of people have asked about this, and today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to ship a test of it. That doesn't seem like the kind of community that we want to create: You don't want to go through the process of sharing some moment that was important to you in your day and have someone 'downvote' it.
Zuckerberg says that the development of this dislike button is extremely difficult to be able to offer exactly the perfect system for such a functionality, but he says that Facebook will soon start testing the new button with users from all over the world.
