Tim Cook on combining iOS and OS X

Tim Cook combination of iOS and OS XTim Cook this evening he participated in a conference organized in the USA and answered a multitude of questions, but one of them addressed by the CEO of the BOX company had in mind the vision of those from Microsoft regarding Windows 10.

More specifically, Tim Cook was asked if Apple is considering combining the iOS and OS X operating systems in a universal operating system similar to Windows 10, the CEO of the Apple company saying very clearly that this is not part of his plans.

Tim Cook said that now Apple's management team does not believe that a universal operating system for computers and mobile terminals would bring any advantage to users, as they are designed to do different things, so they correspond to different needs.

We don't believe in having one operating system for PC and mobile. These operating systems do different things. We have no intention to blend them.

Apple's latest desktop operating system works better with iOS than any iteration before it. In many ways, it's almost impossible to tell where OS X ends and iOS begins — and vice versa.

Although Apple has worked a lot on a better interconnection between iOS and OS X, for now no one from Cupertino is willing to combine the two operating systems into one and the decision is a very good one because no one would have anything major to gain.
