SHOT – iPhone becomes a virtual reality camera

iPhone virtual reality cameraSHOT is a new type of accessory developed for terminals iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus of the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, allowing users to record multimedia content that can be viewed in a similar way to that offered by virtual reality cameras.

According to the creators SHOT, the accessory can be easily mounted on the case of any of the four iPhone terminals mentioned above, it encloses the camera and widens its angle of recording pictures and video clips to offer an immersive experience of viewing images.

SHOT uses two lenses on top of the camera of our terminals, plus the front camera, to record photos at an angle of 360 degrees and video clips at an angle of 235 degrees, so that using the application specially created by the developers you will be able to view the content in - a format similar to that offered by other virtual reality applications.

SHOT is designed in such a way as to be compatible with Google Cardboard, or any other accessories for virtual reality, so you can use the recorded content for viewing in almost any kind of products related to virtual reality.

In summary, Shot is a lens attachment composed of two lenses that increase the field of view of your phone's camera, and an app that allows you to easily record and share immersive content. In order to capture a 360 degrees photo the app takes one photo with each camera and merges them into a high resolution panorama in a transparent way to you.

SHOT is a very interesting and very cheap accessory that will help you have a rudimentary virtual reality experience, but in the absence of devices such as HTC Vive, you can be satisfied with something like this for the beginning.

SHOT is currently waiting for financing to reach the market, but it has a good chance of getting everything it needs to be launched.
