Sleep number is an American company that within CES 2016 presented a smart bed named it bed, having the role of helping users sleep better by monitoring sleep, offering recommendations for a better sleep and not only that.
Sleep number implemented in it bed a technology called SleepIQ Technology, this using biometric sensors placed in the mattresses to monitor our heartbeat, breathing rate, relative relaxation rate and several other factors, the data being displayed in a smartphone application.
Based on this data, the application makes recommendations to change our habits before going to bed, the bed having mattresses whose position can be adjusted electronically, the application also telling us which position is more suitable to offer us a much more relaxing sleep.
Practically it bed it wants to be a kind of assistant for users who do not manage to sleep well at night and relax as they should, the information provided by the bed being able to be read in third-party biometric monitoring applications.
The Sleep Number bed will be released later this year at a price of around 1000 dollars, but it remains to be seen how many people will spend that much money on it.
