YouTube will have support for HDR video

YouTube HDR VideoYouTube announced at CES 2016 that it will offer support for HDR video starting this year, the American company offering users the opportunity to upload shared HDR quality video content for anyone.

The Chief Business Officer of YouTube, Robert Kyncl, announced implementing support for HDR video starting this year, so users will be able to upload any kind of video clips of this kind from the terminals, their quality being superior to normal ones.

HDR, or high dynamic range, is a format that allows the recording of photos and videos that look much more natural than those recorded using standard software, but at the moment few smartphones are capable of recording videos natively HDR.

Despite this, there are many applications that can record HDR video clips that can then be uploaded to YouTube, their playback on large screens offering a much better and more natural viewing experience of the recorded content.

YouTube is the third major multimedia content provider to announce support for HDR video, with Amazon and Netflix already doing it for some time, so now it's just a matter of TVs implementing HDR support.
