When will 4G and WiFi calls for iPhone be launched in Romania?

I am asked more and more often when the 4G and WiFi call services for iPhone are launched in Romania and I put your question to the mobile phone operators in the hope that I will receive an answer that will thank you, but unfortunately this did not happen.

Unfortunately no operator has confirmed to me that in 2016 we will be able to make 4G or WiFi calls from the iPhone in Romania, this in the conditions where Vodafone has been testing the VoLTE service since 2014, and those from Orange launched it last year for certain Samsung terminals.

iPhones have been able to make 4G, VoLTE calls for about 2 years and although in other countries around the world there is support for these services in Apple smartphones, in Romania we will have to wait until they are available .

The fact that Orange and Vodafone have announced support for 4G calls, mainly for Samsung terminals, should not surprise anyone because at the heart of it is a partnership meant to partially reduce the costs of implementing the technology in Romania.

With the function of 4G calls you will be able to make phone calls directly from the 4G network without going back to 3G for the call, the major benefit is that there is no longer a rollback from 4G to 3G, you do not lose your internet connection, etc.

With the function of Wi-Fi calls anyone will be able to make phone calls through a WiFi network when the GSM signal is not strong enough, those from Digi and UPC having applications that allow making this type of calls even from iPhone terminals.

If you were to ask me, I would say yes the launch of VoLTE services for iPhone in Romania could take place in the fall together with the launch of iPhone 7 to support the promotion campaigns of the device, but until then I don't think we will benefit from something like this in Romania.
