ForcePhone brings 3D Touch to any smartphone

Touch 3D is a system implemented by the Apple company in the iPhone 6S and it popularized similar systems that offer the possibility of controlling various smartphone functions by pressing lightly or strongly on the screen, while they also provide tactile feedback.

Although the Apple company launched the new system last fall, some terminal manufacturers Android they tried to copy it in their own products, and now an American university presents it Force Phone, a software that implements 3D Touch in any Android smartphone.

Software Force Phone developed by researchers at the University of Michigan, it works by emitting a sound at 18kHz that people cannot hear, its tone being changed when the screen is pressed or the phone is tightly squeezed, the smartphone's microphone sensing the change and taking a certain action.

To function, Force Phone it would need a different interface for the smartphone, but it has the great advantage of offering this functionality on terminals that do not have screens capable of interpreting the various types of pressure, and theoretically any newer smartphone would be compatible with it.

Given that Force Phone it is currently under development at a university, no one knows if it will ever reach the general public, and if it does, it could be offered at a very low price, or even for free.
