Samsung has launched UFS memory with incredible speeds

Despite the fact that Samsung's mobile division is unable to do anything alone, there are bright minds within the company, and today Samsung launched, in the world premiere, the first UFS, Universal Flash Storage memory cards, which have speeds comparable to those of some SSDs for computers.

The new UFS cards from Samsung have storage space of up to 256 GB, but they have reading speeds of up to 530MB/s, they are 5 times faster than those of a standard microSD card in a smartphone, the speeds of writing reaching up to 170 MB/s, i.e. 2 to 3 times faster than the standard ones.

Moreover, the new Samsung UFS memory card has a random read rate of 40.000 IOPS, i.e. 20 times higher than that of an ordinary microSD card, the random write rate being 35.000 IOPS, i.e. 360 times higher than that of a regular microSD card.

Although the new UFS cards from Samsung look like a standard microSD card, the problem is that they are thought of differently, so for now there are no mobile terminals that have support for them, this has to be implemented in the future by the manufacturers, so something will happen time until this new product can be used by users.

By launching these new types of memories, those from Samsung will be able to offer much better performance for Android terminals, or even for cameras, but everything depends on the speed with which various manufacturers will provide support for the new standard.
