Forced by circumstances, Tim Cook visits China, promises major investments

Apple's revenues from China fell by a third in Q2 2016 compared to the same period last year, but also to the first quarter of 2016, and here we are talking about billions of dollars that did not enter the company's accounts during this period, the problem being a very big one for President Tim Cook.

In this idea, he is on a new "tour of force" in China these days, already meeting with the country's deputy prime minister and other members of the local partners, promising without the government that Apple will open a new center of research and development in the country until the end of this year, this being the first center of this kind developed by the Americans in the region.

For now, it is not known exactly where in China Apple will make this investment, but we can expect several tens or maybe even 100 million dollars invested by the Americans in China to create this research and development center, their plans will contribute to increase the company's notoriety in the country.

This is the second time this year that Tim Cook has visited China, having been in the country in May to announce other investments and discuss with the government his intentions to force Apple to give him access to some of its servers. but today's visit has a completely different purpose.

Apple's new research and development center will be built by the end of the year, Cook told Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, one of China's most senior officials, according to the official Chinese state broadcaster. The pledge comes after the head of China's industry and technology regulator in May told Cook he hoped Apple could deepen its cooperation with the country in research and development and stressed information security.

China is an extremely important country for Apple, more money coming from there than from the US, in some fiscal quarters, so the great attention that Tim Cook pays to it will increase significantly in the future.
