Apple's autonomous car has already been tested

Apple has already tested its autonomous car in a closed circuit, but decided to rethink its development project and will not launch it again.

Although many rumors that have appeared so far suggest that Apple's project to develop a smart car has big problems, Apple is still moving forward. Despite this, the Apple company decided to stop certain segments of its project, only the truly viable ones being kept in development for the future.

Although Apple had over 1000 employees to develop its autonomous car, unfortunately the management team failed to conceive a clear vision for the product. More precisely, the managers had major problems in establishing clear objectives that had to be met, they were of the opinion that all those established by the Apple company were impossible to achieve.

"In a major shift in the goals of one of its most ambitious initiatives, Apple has shut down parts of its self-driving car project, laying off dozens of employees in the process."

Apple tried to motivate its managers to try to fulfill its goals regarding the development of an intelligent, and perhaps autonomous, car by 2019, but this was impossible. In this idea, Steve Zadesky, the man initially chosen to lead the project, left Apple, he was replaced by Bob Mansfield, just a few months ago.

"At Apple, Zadesky had the objective of tripling the team developing the autonomous car, which at the time of his arrival had 600 employees, but also to conceive a vision for the product. The team developing the autonomous car at Apple had great problems in establishing clear objectives for the product. The team was of the opinion that the objectives imposed by Apple could not be met, but the company insisted that they try to meet them by 2019."

This change also had the effect of a change in the team's objectives, so that it will no longer develop a car, but an autonomous guidance system for cars. More than that, the entire program is being rethought by those from Apple in order to be able to fulfill objectives much more easily within the deadlines imposed by the Apple company.

However, before the entire project changed its objectives, the Apple company was already testing a series of autonomous cars, which were driven on closed roads. No one knows yet how advanced they were, or how well they worked, but the people from Apple decided to completely abandon the technologies used in them and dedicate themselves to something else entirely.

"Apple has made significant progress in this area. The company was testing a series of autonomous cars, using roads closed to the public."

Having said that, the dreams of many to have an autonomous car produced by Apple will have to wait, instead the company will collaborate with various manufacturers to launch cars that are equipped with its autonomous guidance technologies.
