iOS 10 vs iOS 8.4.1 – which is faster?

iOS 10 performs surprisingly well compared to iOS 8.4.1 on iPhone 5 or iPhone 5S, things being similar on iPad tablets.

I introduced you today iOS 10 performance compared to those of iOS 9, and the differences between the two versions of the operating system are much smaller than many expected. Apple manages to offer very good performances for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, even if we are talking about a major update for its iOS.

Given that iOS 10 and iOS 9 do not have major differences in performance, what would be the difference in performance between iOS 8.4.1 and iOS 10? Well, you have the answer in the video clips below, iOS 10 being installed on iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S to show us how Apple managed to optimize iOS 10, and the results are truly impressive.

iOS 8.4.1 is faster than iOS 10, but the difference is not nearly as big as last year when the iPhone 4S made the switch to iOS 9. Specifically, iOS 8.4.1 works better than iOS 10 , but the difference in performance is much smaller than I would have expected and it does not affect the user experience that much.

An iPhone 5 owner will see a difference in performance between iOS 8.4.1 and iOS 10, but if we switch to iPhone 5S, that difference is already much smaller in everything we do. Basically, iOS 10 will not make it difficult for us to complete our daily tasks, and this despite the fact that iOS 9 put the iPhone 4S to the ground after the official launch.
