In iPhone 7 the Apple company has implemented an A10 Fusion chip that benefits from a quad-core processor and 2 GB DDR 4 RAM, its performance being spectacular. We are basically talking about the most powerful processor ever implemented in a smartphone, the iPhone 7 Plus version, with 3 GB of RAM, offering even better performance.
If you think that Apple will stop here, well I tell you that you are wrong, because Apple has already prepared a new A10X chip with an even more powerful quad-core processor. In the image below you can see what is presented to us as the result of a new A10X chip, which is up to 20% more powerful than the one in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
According to the result obtained in, probably, the Geekbench benchmarking application, the new A10X chip obtains a score of 6588 points in the multi-core test and 4236 points in the single-core test. Both results are much better than those of the new A10 chip in the iPhone 7
A10X – the new processor faster than the one in iPhone 7
This A10X chip is definitely dedicated to the future iPad tablet models that Apple is preparing for launch on global markets in March. In general, the X series of an Apple chip was dedicated to iPad tablets, so this new component will more than likely end up in products with screens of at least 7.9 inches.
The graph above shows us not only what limit the processors implemented in the iPhone or iPad have reached, but also how much the performances they offer have evolved. You can notice that for several years the Apple company has been improving the processors offered for these types of products at about the same rate, but the A10X seems to bring a slightly bigger increase.
If this A10X really has these performances, we will find out in the following months, after Apple will start testing the new iPad Pro tablets with various partners and more information will be available.
