CES 2017: AirBar transforms the MacBook Air screen into a touchscreen

CES 2017 it hasn't started yet, but many manufacturers are already presenting their products that will be available for testing at the conference stands in Las Vegas. One of these manufacturers created the AirBar, a device that I told you about a few weeks ago, when I told you that it can turn the screen of any laptop into a touchscreen.

At that time, AirBar was only available in a version created especially for laptops with the Windows operating system, but at CES 2017, the version compatible with Mac is also coming. In the video clip below you can see a video clip created especially for CES 2017, the creators of AirBar presenting how the MacBook Air screen can be transformed into a touch one.

AirBar attaches with a magnet to the MacBook Air case, and using zForce AIR technology it is able to interpret the touches we make on the screen. Basically, the AirBar has a sensor mounted that perceives any kind of interaction made by us with the screen, in front of it, and the functionality itself is more than good, for the price asked.

For now, only a 13-inch MacBook Air version of the AirBar is available, and that's because of the way Apple designed its laptop. At CES 2017, the product will be officially presented for all those interested to see it, and the official launch will take place in March, the selling price of the product being 99 dollars, 30 dollars more than the model for Windows laptops .

"We believe the community of devoted MacBook Air users will welcome this new product, as AirBar for MacBook Air will surely enhance the user-experience of an already great product. Our goal for AirBar continues to be expanding its application to more devices, across even more markets.”
