Apple Pay is more popular than Paypal for mobile payments

Apple Pay is more popular than Paypal in terms of mobile payments, a new study shows us the difference between the two payment systems. We are talking here only about the USA, a country where PayPal was very popular anyway, so the implementation of Apple Pay is extremely interesting and it goes without saying that Apple has a service with great potential.

Paypal occupies the second position in the top of the most used mobile payment systems in the USA, Samsung Pay also being present in the top in the middle of the ranking. This study shows us that there are many mobile payment systems in the US, support for which is widely offered at many retailers in various locations in the US.

Last year Paypal was the king of mobile payments in the US, but the Apple company with its fans managed to make Apple Pay much more important than one of the most famous payment systems. A week ago Tim Cook announced that Apple Pay generated 500% more mobile payments in 2016 than in 2015, the increase being a record for Apple.

Apple had a lot of work to convince American banks to accept Apple Pay, and then to find retailers willing to implement support for the system. In the end, it seems that all this effort was not in vain, and Apple Pay is the most popular mobile payment service in the US, even surpassing Apple Pay.

"PayPal has been bumped out of its top spot in this year's survey, with Apple Pay now being accepted at 36% of the retailers participating in the survey. This is up significantly from 16% last year, and signals a growing acceptance by retailers and customers."
