Apple changes the currency used for Romania in the AppStore

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), sent the email below last night to all Romanian customers of the AppStore, iTunes Store, iBook Store, Apple Music, as well as those who buy storage space in iCloud. It warns us that soon the currency in which the prices for the digital products in these stores are displayed will be changed from euros to lei.

A clear date for this change has not been announced by the Apple company, but when it is done, the euro will completely disappear from the stores. All prices will be displayed in LEI, and all iTunes balances loaded through gift cards will also be expressed in LEI, something that had to be done since the appearance of the stores.

The change that the Apple company is making is a major one and it will be interesting to see what kind of currency exchange rate it will use for the new prices. Until now, the banks were the ones who set the exchange rate for purchases, because they did the leu - euro conversion for customers, but Apple simplifies everything a lot.

I would like to believe that Apple will not display much higher prices compared to the euro value in Romania, but knowing Apple's mode of action, I think this will happen. What do you think ?

"Hello,
The currency used in Romania for the App Store, iTunes Store, iBooks Store, Apple Music and for iCloud storage space will soon be changed from euros to leu.

After the change of currency, any pre-orders or subscriptions will be invoiced in lei, and the existing iTunes gift balances will be denominated in the local currency.

Maximize your gift balances as soon as possible. During coin change, you may encounter problems viewing, using or capitalizing credit in the store.
