iPhone 9 could have larger diagonal screens

iPhone 9 could have screens with a much larger diagonal than those implemented in iPhone 8, Samsung going to provide them for those from Apple.

iPhone 9, as it is called by today's information source, could be launched in 2017 by the Apple company with two very important changes. Well, the use of OLED screens in the iPhone will start in 2017, but in 2018 Apple would continue this trend and sell iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus with this type of components.

Unlike the current models, the iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus terminals that will be sold in 20018 will have screens with a diagonal of 5.28 inches and 6.46 inches, respectively. If the information is true, then for the iPhone 9 series we are talking about a substantial increase in the diagonal of the screens compared to the current models that have 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches.

With the iPhone 8, Apple wants to switch to screens with a diagonal of 5.8 inches, but in 2018 it intends to offer the iPhone 9 series with even larger screens. Of course, we are still talking about screens that cover the entire front panel of the iPhone 9, since they also have a larger diagonal, but they could also come with a new design change.

For the iPhone 9 with OLED screens of such a large diagonal, the Apple company would have already chosen to call on Samsung for the manufacture of these components. According to today's information source, Samsung would provide 180 million OLED screens for the various models of iPhone terminals that will have such components, including the iPhone 9.

Considering that Apple wants to make a major change in 2017 for the diagonal and shape of iPhone screens, it's hard to say if iPhone 9 will bring a new major change. The last time Apple changed the diagonal of the iPhone screens was in 2014, when the first terminals with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens were launched, much smaller than the ones that should end up in the iPhone 9.

"The report said the iPhone 9 is expected to come in two OLED models — 5.28- and 6.46-inch display sizes. Samsung's OLED shipment is also likely to be more than double at 180 million units. Other details such as screen design and functions could be adjusted considering the phone is still under development."

However, since the Plus series iPhone terminals are so popular, perhaps such a substantial increase in the diagonal of the iPhone 9 screens would not be so hard to believe. Regardless of the situation, for now we are too far from the iPhone 9 launch to know for sure what will be released.
