iPhone 8 has priority for Sony cameras over Android terminals

iPhone 8 it seems to be more important for Sony than the Androi terminals manufactured by various other manufacturers, or at least that's what a series of information that appeared today suggests. Asian sources suggest that Apple is one of the four companies that have priority in the delivery of components manufactured by Sony, so implicitly iPhone 8 is in the attention of the Japanese.

Huawei, Oppo and Vivo are also favored by those from Sony, but of all of them, Apple buys the most components, not only for the iPhone 8, but also for other idevices. Sources confirm that Apple is the biggest customer of the Sony division that produces image sensors for smartphone cameras, so the Americans have a higher priority.

Sony has problems with the production of cameras after a series of natural disasters last year affected the Sony factories that produce these components. On the other side are companies like ASUS or HTC, which are forced to find other suppliers of cameras for smartphones, otherwise they risk having their production seriously affected by those from Sony.

Solutions for the others do not really exist, because Samsung produces cameras mainly for its own products, and those from Omnivision do not really specialize in cameras for smartphones. In this idea, we see again that Apple affects the production of Android terminals, as it happens with screens, or other components for mobile terminals.

"Sony has given priority to Apple, and China-based Huawei, Oppo and Vivo for CMOS image sensor (CIS) capacity, according to industry sources. Sony is shipping CIS to the top-3 China-based smartphone vendors for their high-end devices, while Apple remains its largest client, said the sources. Sony's limited availability has prompted other smartphone companies, such as Asustek Computer and HTC, to source CIS from other suppliers including OmniVision and Samsung, the sources indicated."
