Apple hires Sony executives to grow Apple Music

Company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), recently hired two well-known managers from Sony Pictures, they are specialized in the development of original content for production studios. We are talking about Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, who will work under the command of Eddy Cue and who will try to bring new types of original content to the Apple Music offer of the Apple company.

In order to bring new TV shows and movies to Apple Music, major investments are made by the Apple company, the Americans wanting to have as varied an offer as possible for their customers. Apple is already financing several productions, one of them being launched, Planet of the Apps, but others are to be launched soon and it is hard to say how successful they might be in attracting subscribers.

At Sony, the two managers contributed to the production of extremely popular series such as breakingbad, BThe Crown, or Sneaky Pete. The last two series belong to Netflix and Amazon, and now the managers will try to bring Apple company at least as good content to increase the number of Apple Music subscribers this year.

One of the managers stated that within Apple he will try to contribute to the creation of content of an unprecedented quality. He wants this original digital content to be at least as good as the extraordinary products that the Apple company sells worldwide, and considering the resources that those in Cupertino have, it is not hard to believe that they will succeed.

The reality is that Apple needed such people to be able to seriously compete with Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and the big media trusts, and from 2017 they will have the means.

"Jamie and Zack are two of the most talented TV executives in the world and have been instrumental in making this the golden age of television. We have exciting plans in store for customers and can't wait for them to bring their expertise to Apple — there is much more to come. It will be an honor to be part of the Apple team. We want to bring to video what Apple has been so successful with in their other services and consumer products — unparalleled quality."
