Samsung Galaxy Note 9 – Function Missing from iPhone X

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could have a feature that is missing from the iPhone X this year, with Samsung working hard to implement it in 2018.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 it could have a function that is missing from iPhone X, company Samsung already testing the new technology that the Apple company could not offer in its new phone. We are talking about a technology that also caused problems for Samsung in 2017, but which in 2018 should end up not only in the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, but also in the Samsung Galaxy S9, to offer something different from the iPhone X.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and possibly the Samsung Galaxy S9, will have an integrated fingerprint reader under the screen, although the other day it was said that this function will be forgotten in favor of another one from the iPhone X. We are talking about the facial scan offered by Face ID from the iPhone X, Android manufacturers rushing to offer it for customers, but those from Samsung seem to focus more on a fingerprint reader under the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 screen.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with a fingerprint reader under the screen would represent an innovation instead of a copy of a function from the iPhone X, and maybe that's exactly what the Samsung company wants. The Koreans have already received some samples of fingerprint readers that can be integrated under the screens of mobile phones, so the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 are already tested with them, although the iPhone X has not yet been launched.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 would use technology from Synaptics, an Apple partner, even for the iPhone X, to offer a fingerprint reader under its screen. Considering that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is very far from launch, the possibility that it will offer this innovation in contrast to the iPhone X remains quite high, the chances being much lower for the Samsung Galaxy S9.

"In our latest analysis of recent under-display optical fingerprint recognition industry developments, we see Korean suppliers and Synaptics as having better visibility among suppliers. With regard to the latest biometrics technologies, however, we favor the 3D sensing segment."

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 gives Samsung a lot of time to develop this important feature, many of the customers who will buy iPhone X expect this from Apple. As Apple failed to find a satisfactory way to implement a fingerprint reader under the iPhone X screen, it thought of offering Face ID, and a similar decision could be made for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 if the technologies are not satisfactory.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could go through the same problem as the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, for which this technology was also tested to attack the iPhone X. Samsung failed this year, just like Apple with the iPhone X, so the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, or maybe even the Samsung Galaxy S9, would bring this very problematic new technology.
