Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is being pressured by at least two big investors to improve one of the major functions that phones do iPhone they have it at the moment, but it's not quite as good as it should be. More precisely, these investors ask Apple to improve the parental control system of iPhones, to reduce the negative effects of social networks and more.

The investors mentioned in an open letter several studies that claim that smartphones and social networks have a negative impact on children's mental and psychological health. According to this study, 67% of the study participants, all teachers, stated that young people are distracted by smartphones and social networks during classes, their results being seriously affected in the absence of closer control.

Moreover, the negative impact of social networks on children increases by up to 27% the risk of depression among them, compared to those who are protected from this apparently very harmful environment. Children have replaced physical activities outdoors and socializing in real life with social networks and using a smartphone for games, or viewing online multimedia content.

"There is a developing consensus around the world including Silicon Valley that the potential long-term consequences of new technologies need to be factored in at the outset, and no company can outsource that responsibility to an app designer, or more accurately to hundreds of app designers."

In order to counter the negative effects of smartphones and social networks, Apple investors demand the creation of a commission to offer recommendations to implement advanced parental control functions in the iPhone. Of course, Apple must also have the desire to do this, so it remains to be seen to what extent such changes could be integrated into the iOS operating system.
