Android is more SECURE than iOS, says Google

Android is more secure than iOS, says the Google company, stating that in 2017 it implemented numerous improvements for its own operating system.

Android SECURE iOS Google

Android is at least as certain as iOS, says the head of the Google division that develops the operating system for mobile phones and a variety of other gadgets, stating that the company has surpassed Apple in this segment. Those from Google claim that they have implemented innovative technologies in the Android operating system to be able to move ahead of iOS in terms of security, 2017 being an extremely interesting year for the American platform.

Android is presented as more secure than iOS by the Google company, but those there admit that if vulnerabilities are discovered in the operating system, they are solved extremely hard. This happens because Google solves the problem in Android, but its partners have to make their own separate updates that must be sent to customers, and this can take several months, while Apple sends instant updates to everyone.

Android is more secure than iOS, says Google

Android was not thought of as an operating system for which the main priority was security, but Google says that it has begun to think seriously about it and is improving the security of its users. Google says that it does not want to limit Android, but only that it implements enough security measures for phones and tablets, so that hackers cannot exploit the operating system as easily as they have done so far.

"Android security made a significant leap forward in 2017 and many of our protections now lead the industry. Android is now as safe as the competition. Apple […] can deliver security updates directly to iPhones, and it prevents users from getting apps from outside of its App Store. But Android isn't moving towards Apple's model. Instead, Kleidermacher said, it's possible to address these issues by "retrofitting" security into Android phones. In other words, even if Android wasn't originally designed with security as a top priority, it can be built in now."

Although Google is trying hard to improve the security of the Android operating system, it will never be able to solve the problem of delivering solutions for the discovered vulnerabilities. Android security is improved in vain by solving problems in major versions, if the problems discovered between these important releases are not solved until after months and months of waiting.

Android is the most used operating system on the planet, but due to the very high degree of fragmentation, neither new functions nor solutions to security problems reach users in a timely manner.
