Macs had a good Q1 2018 for the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, sales managing to register an increase of 1.5% compared to the same period last year, despite the decrease in global sales. If the PC market registered a decrease of 1.4%, in the case of Macs we are talking about an increase of 1.5%, so the world remains interested in the products from Cupertino in the future.
4.26 million Macs were sold worldwide in Q1 2018, they add up to 6.9% of total PC sales globally, the percentage itself being very small. Basically, Apple manages to go against the market trend, but that doesn't help it much, because its sales aren't that great, and bigger competitors have also had increases.
Apple launched a series of new Macs last year, but nothing substantial for the commercial public, with important changes being announced this year, especially a new model of the MacBook Air. Apple maintains its third position in the list of PC sellers globally, the American company managing to stay behind Dell, Lenovo and HP in Q1 2018.
Apple has remained fairly consistent each year in terms of PC sales, and substantial growth is not expected anytime soon, mainly due to high prices. No matter what new functions Apple will implement in its Macs, as long as the prices will be far above expectations, people will continue to ignore its products.
