Google Chat Comes with a BIG Problem on Android

Chat is a new messaging application that Google will launch for Android instead of the native one, but it has an important problem.

Google Chat BIG Android Problem

Cat is the name of the application that the company Google will launch it to replace the native one for messages from the operating system Android, in an attempt to bring an iMessage, but not everyone is so happy with this change. Those from Google are trying to promote the RCS system, Rich Communication Services, which allows sending SMS and messages via the Internet using a single type of application, but it comes with a major problem, unfortunately.

Chat does not have encryption when sending and receiving messages, so all communications made by Google's Android users can have their messages intercepted by anyone when they are having conversations. According to recent information, many mobile phone operators and Android manufacturers have given their consent for the Chat application from Google to replace the native Messages on phones with this operating system.

Google Chat comes with a big problem on Android

Chat is a step in the right direction taken by the Google company to bring a system similar to iMessage to Android, but everyone "jumped on the head" of the American company for the fact that there is no encryption in it. In its current form, Chat is not as well secured as iMessage, WhatsApp, Signal, or other important messaging applications, but I think that the majority of these critics will convince Google to secure it better.

"In a sign of its strategic importance to Google, the company has spearheaded development on the new standard, so that every carrier's Chat services will be interoperable. But, like SMS, Chat won't be end-to-end encrypted, and it will follow the same legal intercept standards. In other words: it won't be as secure as iMessage or Signal."

Chat will be able to have the messages intercepted by anyone who wants, and the operators were most likely happy to accept the RCS standard that Google is promoting, but I think there is an unpleasant surprise for them in the future. Google knows how important data security is, it forced the security of websites, so I'm pretty sure it has a method to secure the Chat application, especially since it imposes it as a replacement for the standard Android messaging one.
