The iPhone 9 will use a new XMM 7560 model from Intel, offering higher speeds for surfing the Internet, but most likely also an improved GSM signal for users. We all know that Intel's modems are not the best, but for iPhone 9 the American company will most likely try to solve some of the problems that have been announced so far by Apple and customers.

iPhone 9 is going to be the first gigabit iPhone that Apple offers, because the new modem from Intel can offer internet browsing speeds of up to 1 Gbps, just like Qualcomm's. Samsung has been using Qualcomm modems for some time that give its phones the ability to surf the Internet at speeds of up to 1 Gbps, and from this year the iPhone 9, iPhone 11 and iPhone X Plus will offer the same thing.
"Intel has started production of modem chips that will go into Apple's upcoming iPhones later this year. XMM 7560 [modem chips are] now in the process of being deployed... The iPhone 9 could be the last iPhone model that will not have 5G support, and this is because Intel has announced that starting in 2019 it will create modems that support this type of mobile phone networks.
