WhatsApp it currently has a new function in full development process that no one has thought of until now, so its usefulness is under discussion, although there will be people who will appreciate it after the launch. More precisely, those at WhatsApp are currently testing a new function that will allow you to mark messages as read using a button that will be available in the notifications we receive from the application.
WhatsApp has this new function for the iPhone and Android applications shown in the image below, it is currently being tested in the Android application, but it will not be offered only there. As you can see, the notification received on the phone from WhatsApp has a special button on which the mark is visible Mark as Read, pressing it marking all messages as read, without actually opening the application to see them.

WhatsApp will display this button in the notifications received in iPhone and Android only if all the notifications displayed in the Notifications Center come from the same chat, but if they come from separate discussions, the button will not be visible. This is most likely a limitation of the way this functionality is implemented, those from WhatsApp probably not having the possibility to mark messages as read in multiple chats simultaneously.
WhatsApp is constantly rolling out new features for users around the world, so everything we see now shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, as is normal. Given that WhatsApp is testing this feature in the Android app for now, it's very hard to say how long it will be until it's publicly released for everyone, but it probably won't be long.
