Google: HUGE changes to Android Proposed EU

Google proposed to the European Union a series of huge changes for Android in order to avoid the record fine, here is the response it received, and what it will do.

Google HUGE Android EU Changes

Google google was fined last week by the European Union with a record amount of 4.3 billion euros due to the fact that it forced the manufacturers of Android phones to include applications with their own services in the phones. Google attacked this decision of the European Commission, but before reaching here, the American company tried to make changes for Android that would help it avoid the application of such a measure.

Google proposed to the European Commission a series of changes that it can make in order to avoid the huge fine that was to be imposed against it, the changes being proposed for implementation by August 2017. Google made this proposal shortly after she received a similar fine from Google for Google Search and the way search results were displayed for online stores, but those from the European Commission didn't really want to hear about her.

Google: HUGE changes to Android Proposed EU

Google has proposed giving up a restriction it imposes on Android phone manufacturers regarding its applications, but also their distribution in various ways so as not to violate European legislation. The European Commission did not agree with Google's proposals, saying that it is too late to implement these changes in order to avoid the fine, the goal of European officials being quite clear.

"In the weeks after the June 2017 fine in the shopping case, Google lawyers began to make overtures to their EU counterparts to express a willingness to settle the probe into Android, one of the company's flagship products. Previous attempts to start a conversation with the EU on ways to end the probe had failed to catch fire, with officials stonewalling or saying it was too early to negotiate"

Google failed to convince the European Commission to negotiate a lower fine instead of the current one, the officials refusing to cooperate for an amicable solution to the problem, wanting to apply a record fine to show their strength. It is possible that the Europeans have asked for these changes for years and Google has refused to do them, and now it will be treated with the "same currency", but it is clear that there was an intention to solve the problems, but the European Commission refused the discussions.
